Nobody really wants to have running nose, fever, body aches
Obviously, you want to avoid the weakness of your immune system, serious congestion, and breathing problems that go along with the cause of a flu-related fatality
What cause you to have flu?
Important to realize, the flu is caused by a few different types of influenza viruses.
It is very contagious and often spread from person to person.
As a matter of fact by tiny drops, produced during a cough or sneeze.
In addition, it can be spread by contact from hand to hand.
Symptoms you will probably get from the flu.

Being affected by the flu can be caused by a number of factors.
- And age is one of the main cause.
- If you are having pneumonia frequently
- It can be a reaction to be exposed to bacteria or virus.
Normally the common cold virus does not result in pneumonia.
But if pneumonia occurs as a complication of a cold it is more likely to be bacterial.

It Is The Flu or a Cold I am Getting?
Please watch this short video about the different symptoms:
I am telling you, flu and the common cold are both respiratory illness, but they caused by different viruses.
To put in another way, flu is worse than the common cold and usually more intense.
People with colds are more likely to have a runny or stuffy nose.
What are The Symptoms of The Flu This Year?
- Feverish (not everyone with flu will have a fever)
- A cough

How Many Cold a Year is Normal for Adults?
Normally the average of getting cold is two to four time a year
But women, those aged twenty to thirty years have more colds comparatively with men
Possibly, because of their closer contact with children
Among families with children in school, the number of cold per child can be as high as twelve colds a year, which is a quite bit!
- Frequent Symptoms Of Colds
- Dry throat
- A sore throat

How long are you contagious with the flu?
from the moment you are getting it, flu spreads. People are more contagious in the first three or four days, this is why you need to stay home.
How Can I get relief faster From Flu?
I will suggest you stay home and get rest
You have to drink plenty of liquid, the more you drink the best for your body to recover
Just try to relax, take advantage to do nothing or perhaps read a book, watch TV
Keep it simple
Who is at high risk for flu?
Officially it is stressed that elderly people are at higher risk of getting the flu.
Seventy to ninety percent of deaths from flu annually occur among sixty-five or over.
This evidence is frightening me when I read that pregnant women have six times more likely to die if they get flu.
The highest vaccination coverage last season was among kids age six months to twenty-three months old.
At seventy-five percent of the total US population vaccination.
Those children are the only group to exceed national health officials goal of vaccination rates of seventy percent
Health Officials Said
Everyone over the age of six months should be vaccinated for the flu.
Dr. Tom Frieden, says flu can strike anyone and it can strike hard.
For this year, Officials said, nasal sprays are not recommended for delivering vaccinations because they claim to be not as efficient as injectable doses.
Could you imagine a second, a world, where one of two children dies before the age of ten? and where living expectancy does not go over twenty-five years old? Improbable?
BELIEVE IT OR NOT
This was the case in France in the XVIII Century. Influenza virus caused so many deaths.
Because of the lack of hygiene and inadequate medical treatment
HOW BAD ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FLU?
There are three types of flu viruses
A, B, and C.
Type A and B cause the annual influenza epidemics that affects up to twenty percent of the population. Most compelling evidence.
Influenza A is caused by infection with a virus, it is obviously more serious than B, and C.
CAN YOU TREAT FLU AT HOME?
Please watch this short video about home remedies to boost the immune system. https://youtu.be/WQVbJNERILg
In order to treat the flu, usually, you will need nothing more than bed rest and plenty of fluids
But in some cases, your doctor may prescribe an antiviral medication such as Oseltamivir (Tamiflu ) or Zanamivir ( Relenza )
WHY OLDER PEOPLE ARE MORE AT RISK?
- As we get older our body tends to be less stronger.
- Because the immune system doesn’t function as well as it used to.
- We may be at higher risk and complications from influenza.
- The more susceptible we become to infections, to inflammatory diseases and cancer.
How do we protect yourself?
Firstly, I will recommend you to get vaccinated.
Importantly, have a well-balanced diet
Make sure you get enough proteins
As a rule, the minimum of proteins to aim for is forty-five grams
for senior women, and sixty grams for seniors men, per day.
One egg white has seven grams of protein
A can of tuna or chicken has close to forty grams
Include in your diet variety of fresh fruits and vegetables.
- Whole grains and lean protein
- Rich in vitamins C and E beta-carotene and zinc have the positive effect to good health
Be sure to add multivitamins or herbal supplements
Echinacea, ginseng, probiotics
Obviously, before adding anything new to your diet, talk to your doctor first.
Older people tend to drink less fluid than younger people
Keep in mind you need to drink at least eight to nine glasses of fluids a day.
Having, milk, soup, coffee and tea, some fruits and veggies will definitely help to have the right dosage of liquid.
Ask your doctor if you are sixty-five older
for specific amounts of liquid, especially if you have kidney or heart problems
Your urine should be light color as the darker it is the more at risk of dehydration you are.
Boost your immune system:
- By taking a good rest, the best natural medicine for you to help reduce your stress an inflammation is having a good sleep
- Schedule your daily activity
- Having physical exercises that will help significantly slood circulation and promotes cardiovascular health.
Some people age better than others, they remain active, healthy, and self-independent.
Lastly, one great thing to consider for older adults is:
Learn how the role of positive thinking can help you
Make time for friends and social contacts and have fun
Although we all need to remember the basics of common sense realities.
Keep in mind the healthy ways to strengthen your immune system

Then remove the veggies, and place them in a bowl (keep warm with a lid).
In the pot on low fire add rice, cook for another fifteen minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste the rice.
Remove the meat from the bones and discard the skin. Dice the meat in small sizes.
Put the diced chicken, and the veggies, back in the broth and give it a boil. Let it cool a little before adding the egg sauce mixture.
The broth should not boil when adding the egg mixture.
